This hand-crafted catalogue was inspired by the 2007 Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibit of the same name. Focused on portraits from the New Objective movement in 1920’s Germany, the layout is meant to be as off-beat, yet sophisticated, as the subject-matter. Included as a visual foreward is a booklet of WWI etchings and drawings by an artist prominently shown throughout the catalogue. These drawings reflect the mayhem of war that led to the experimental culture that allowed the New Objective movement to flourish. The booklet is meant to look faded and worn as if it crawled right out of the trenches, following its artist into the glamour of post-war Berlin.
